Research and Planning: Bond : Michael Gillette

Looking at general fan art I came across the artist Michael Gilette.  Born and raised in Swansea Wales he flourished in his career as an artist taking a quirky approach adding Pop to art. He is know for his talent to translate modern culture art memorable to the eye of the beholder.

Gilette created the iconic and classical James Bond covers for the novels "Elegantly capturing the sexy-cool essence of OO7" (PRINTS, no date)

What i like about Gillette work is the simplicity of the finished piece but yet still carries a message of the seductive bond women.  The pop art vintage approach to the image I feel works well with the content in which theses posters where produced. Originally for the novels.  I admire the traditional art appearance in these posters, yet there loud with colour.  They are bold striking images which is a simlair feel to what i would like to achieve in my final piece.
