Research and Planning : Competition Brief

Brief : "The Electric Gallery is looking for original artwork inspired by this years most highly
anticipated, quintessentially British cult film; Spectre."

RESEARCH :

The Electric Cinema : An one of the oldest cinemas in the UK. Still taking business consisting for two digital screens featuring a variety of independent, classic and international films. The Cinema isn't the typical site, with a quirky touch of sofas, a bar and waiting service.

Spectre: "A cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE" (Mendes, 2015)

The Bond Film is featured in serval locations around the world, Opening in Mexico later filming in Germany, London and Rome.

The Filming featured a Ski resort, which was shot in Austria and Germany.
The opening sequence was filmed in Mexico city, to include the Day of the Dead Festival.

Reflection: The Bond film explores an takes a culture approach introducing exciting and moving colours and themes through out the film. This is something I will include in my own personal piece. I would like to take a Female approach exploring the idea of a bond girl including culture and colour. This combination I feel could work well in a piece for the gallery and the target audience of Fan Art.
